  • Hit and Run Motorcycle Accident Leaves Family in Emptiness

A Tucson family is reaching out to the community in hopes of shedding some light on a recent motorcycle accident that killed their loved one.

The Motorcycle Accident / Hit and Run

Around 3am on Saturday, September 20th, the body of 29-year-old Jason Wiczynski was found on East Valencia Road, just south of Wilmot. According to the investigation, deputies believe Wiczynski went down on his bike, and was then run over. What deputies must answer now is “by whom?” and if the hit and run was an accident.

According to family members Wiczynski loved the ocean, worked in sales at Sam Levitz Furniture, loved his family, and was great with people. Wiczynski’s sister Amanda says, “It’s emptiness because he’s gone. And emptiness for the unknown.” Amanda organized a sunset candle vigil in hopes of generating new leads to witnesses and potential answers. “Hopefully someone who saw something will come forward and let us know what happened,” said Amanda.

According to officials, a second motorcyclist was also at the scene, but was not involved, and did not witness the accident. If there were witnesses, it appears they took off before deputies arrived.
